The falling film evaporator is generally designed into long tube vertical type, and preferred for heat sensitive liquors. A film of liquor flows down the inside of a tube and is circulated to maintain the required flow. Because of the circulation pumps on each effect maintaining the wetted tube surfaces these evaporators have excellent turndown capabilities.

This type of evaporator is widely used for the liquids which contain small quantities of solids and have a low to moderate tendency to form encrustations. Including below industries:
